Paul Di Filippo has some nice things to say about Bad Monkeys in today's Washington Post. I'm thinking the references to Ian Fleming and John le Carre ought to sell at least few copies to CIA and NSA types who spot this on their way to work.

I spotted a reviewer who hadn't done their research earlier today: the latest issue of SFX has a review which assumes "Jane Charlotte" is a Bronte sisters reference. (And then says your female protagonist is not a patch on theirs, which strikes me as an odd comparison, but let's not dwell.)

Nice review. Obviously the guys at the WP want you to drop by this fair city (hah), too :)

I read the book a few days ago, and I really enjoyed it. Hopefully some of the people I've recommended it to will give it a shot.

And regarding WoW, I saw something that reminded me of your post a while ago.

In Shadowfang Keep there are a bunch of Worgen ruled by Arugal, a pale white guy. Worgen spelled backwards is...?
In outland, there is an instance called the Slave Pens. Inside, it is filled with nagas.

Our godforsaken-suburb-of-Baltimore-and-Washington (where quite a few of the NSA types live) has zero independent bookstores so I doubt we can help get you to the east coast. But I hope the review helps make that happen.

What I want to know is why did it get printed in such a strange format? Not hard cover, not classic softcover, tall and skinny. And alarmingly yellow.
