Bad Monkeys
A nice bit of news to start the week: the film rights to Bad Monkeys have been optioned by producer Matt Battaglia's company Blink International (www.mattbattaglia.com). This is my first-ever film option, and while it's only step one towards getting an actual movie made, Lisa and I are both really excited.

Nice. It'd actually make a great movie, potentially.

Awesome! I'd lovev to see a movie, but it's great just to hear that it was optioned. I'm surprised it's your first (not that I can quite imagine how something like SG&E would work as a film or series of films).

If anything comes of this I'll definitely harass my sister to try and get cast in it somehow.

Sweet! I'm excited, too! Good timing... I just found a leftover little yellow card this morning. :-) Let us know when it's time to start spreading more!

Ooh, congratulations, should be very good (in theory at least). Hope you manage to retain creative control of it and not let it turn into a V For Vendetta style fiasco or something.

Anyway, it's a very cinematic book, so hopefully it'll stay reasonably "pure", I'm really looking forward to it...good luck with what I imagine will be a long process ahead though.
Personally I'd also *love* to see someone with talent and style direct "Set This House In Order", that could be nearly as mind-bendingly heart-breakingly good as the novel.

Anyway, I'm being presumptuous, on both counts - I'm a huge admirer of your talent (just starting SG&E), and stumbled across your LJ.
I'm going to add you to my f-list if you've no objections - I'm making an assumption that you're either too busy to notice/care or that you're ok with it; but let me know if you want me to remove you.

Anyway, keep up the good work, you're fast becoming one of my favourite contemporary authors. :)

Good news everyone...!

Perfect...but I´m still waiting for your "Fool on the hill" trilogy!

Still perfect news.

As mentioned when it was presented, you have my express permission to use the burnt journal in the series/movie/etc.

Book plot question
I just finished the book, and I know this is the exact wrong place to ask this, but I don't care. My question, phrased to avoid plot-spoilage, is this: Why hadn't she recognized him from the start, or he her? Or, if they both knew that they both knew each other, why did they play the game throughout? I NEED ANSWERS thx
