Bonus "30 Days of Night" factoid

Marijuana grow lamps are effective against vampires. This is due not only to the ultraviolet rays, but to the magical way the lamps' wattage increases when they are aimed at the undead.

Sadly, they are only effective at close range.

Damn. If I'd known that when I was living in Syracuse I could have saved myself a lot of woe and picked up a potentially lucrative hobby!

(which hobby is a subject left to interpretation)

I lived in Syracuse from 1990 - 1995 and, alas, was into almost any hobby you're describing. Then again, some would say that there's nothing else to do in Syracuse but party and become a vampire.

When I had friend who looked vaguely vampiric, they would tell me how marijuana was a dirty-hippie drug. Now, I know the truth behind their aversion.

The wattage increase can probably be chalked up to the same effect that causes vampires to have no refection. There is a kind of lens effect present around the vampire, and it serves to amplify the frequencies used in grow lights.

er....? :)

Thank you! I needed to learn that. Here in Germany most people still would use garlic. But it's the heck of a job turning it into lampshades.

Praise modern technology! But crosses do work still! And yes it is a pity, that good old garlic is no more reliable.
