Election-themed toys

270toWin.com has a nifty interactive U.S. map that allows you to see how the electoral college votes were divvied up in every presidential race all the way back to 1789. You can also run a simulation of the upcoming election that uses data from the latest polls. [Via Andrew Sullivan]

And if you're looking for a moderately complex two-player board game to while away the hours on election night, Z-Man Games' 1960: The Making of the President looks like it might fit the bill.

The boardgame is fantastic. Boardgamegeek.com is a great resource and the entry for the game lists reviews and comments and photos.

Very balanced, with minimal luck that's mitigated through the use of cards as the engine that drives the actions. Also, most cards have dual purposes -- either one can play it for one's self or against/for the other candidate.

There's also the added meta-ness of alternate history when Nixon trounces Kennedy. Very fun.
