P.S. Isaac Chotiner, in the course of snarking about the list, says that the guy who picked Gran Torino must not have seen the last twenty minutes. As I probably won't even rent that one, could somebody tell me how it ends?

**** SPOILER FOR GRAN TORINO ALERT ****

**** SERIOUSLY, I'M GOING TO TELL YOU HOW IT ENDS ****

The Old Man decides to exact the ultimate revenge on the gang who raped his neighbor. He goes and buys his first and only new suit, he gets his hair cut (I kid you not), then he goes over to the gang's house. He calls them names, and then he says a hail mary under his breath, and reaches into his jacket, at which point the gang shoots him dead, in front of lots of witnesses. Turns out he was reaching for his lighter. They all go to jail for shooting an unarmed man in front of lots of witnesses. Turns out the suit and the haircut were for his funeral (aww....).

His little neighbor friend (brother of the young girl who gets raped) ends up with the sweet car, per the Old Man's will.

Actually, it was a really great movie (even if the ending was a little wonky), if only to listen to Clint Eastwood say, "GET OFF MY LAWN" better than anyone ever has. It was also genuinely funny and sweet.

...this illustrates to me how much the reader's 50% does matter. Because that's not how I read some of those movies at all.

If nothing else...
it was quite humorous and worth watching for that alone.
